Attention all high school students! can you write any program? Do you enjoy data such as pictures, graphs, election surveys and everything you want to find out with them? Do you like problem-solving or just want to understand how artificial intelligence works? We already have the 4th DataDay, where it all might manifests.
Interesting workshops, a lecture on the latest trends in data science, data modeling, interactive creation of intelligent systems, a quiz, pizza, new people and much more await you. What’s under the hood of ChatGPT?
Do you want to know how today’s artificial intelligence models process natural language? What does the training of such a model look like? How does a model learn to use tools like a calculator or how to surf the Internet? Does the model also learn from me when I text with it? If you are interested in the answers, the lecture is just for you!
WORKSHOPS
Am I on social media too often?
What does Facebook posting data say? We will look at this in this workshop, where we will try to analyze the data using Python and Google Colab. We will point out the concept of empirical probability, or relative frequency of some investigated event, which is also used in machine learning methods.
Approve or disapprove the loan?
At this workshop, you will experience what it’s like to be in the shoes of a bank and decide who to grant a loan to. Based on various data about clients, you will try to build a statistical model that will help you in making decisions.
Taming wild threads
Do you want to have your apartment renovated in a month, but the master can do it in 6? Simple solution, call 6 masters. Is your program running slowly? Divide its work between multiple threads running in parallel. At the workshop, you will try out how to run multiple functions at the same time, what problems arise, and how to solve them.

Why is DataDay 4 on a Saturday?
The event is intended for all high school students who like to think and discover new things, not only during the school week. The workshops will be led by great people from the university and from Košice companies.
What should I bring?
Above all, bring a good mood. If you like to work on your laptop, bring that too. However, it is not necessary – if you do not have a laptop, the workshops will be in the computer rooms, where you will have a computer at your disposal.
