Dataday 4

As every year at the beginning of the summer semester, DataDay took place at Jesenná 5 in Košice, for the fourth time! More than 60 participants came to support this enjoying program on Saturday event, February 17, 2024.

First of all, immediately after registration, data enthusiasts attended a lecture entitled “What’s under the hood of ChatGPT?” led by Gabriela Vozáriková. After completing it, the participants were explained in more depth how artificial intelligence processes natural language, how models are trained, or whether the model learns when we chat with ChatGPT.

 

However, the lecture was only an introduction to Saturday’s program. The employees of the Institute of Mathematics and the Institute of Informatics prepared these following workshops:

• Am I too often on social media?
• To approve or not to approve a loan?
• Taming of wild threads
• Methods for anomaly detection

By attending two of the mentioned four workshops, the DataDay participants had successfully completed the educational part. Next on program was more fun. After everyone had enjoyed pizza or other refreshments and supported their drinking regime, it was time for the quiz.

The participants formed groups of 5 and fought for prizes by guessing the answers correctly. Subsequently, the winners could enjoy a USB key, a computer mouse or Bluetooth headphones.
