From data to efficient production: UPJŠ and Magna Powertrain seek solutions using AI
On December 16, 2025, representatives of the Faculty of Science of Pavol Jozef Šafárik University in Košice attended a working meeting with representatives of Magna Powertrain s.r.o in Kechnec, during which they familiarized themselves with the company’s production processes and technological background. The aim of the meeting was to identify areas in which the faculty’s know-how in the fields of artificial intelligence, data analytics, and physics could contribute to streamlining production and logistics processes in industrial practice.
The discussion focused mainly on opportunities for cooperation in the application of artificial intelligence methods and advanced data analysis in the optimization of inventory, logistics flows, and decision-making processes in manufacturing. The negotiations also included the involvement of students in solving practical tasks in the form of diploma theses, the design of professional training courses for process engineers, and the development of joint research and application projects.
The meeting confirmed mutual interest in systematic and long-term cooperation between academia and industry partners, which supports the transfer of knowledge into practice and strengthens the connection among research, education, and innovation.
