Kosice in the Cloud Vol. 6 – Recap

This time, Kosice in the Cloud Vol. 6 was in a completely new suit – as a hands-on workshop, which gave participants a practical experience with a modern data stack using the Snowflake database. Under the guidance of Senior Analytics Engineer Milan Špál, participants tried working with the popular dbt (data build tool) which is now used by more than 40,000 organizations worldwide.

 

 

An introductory theoretical overview and explanation of the basic principles of dbt was followed by the main part – the practical creation of the data model. The participants themselves went through the complete process from defining the transformations to the application of best practices.

 

 

Throughout the workshop, Milan Špal provided valuable advice, answered questions and shared real experiences from the data engineering environment. Participants were able to take away not only new skills, but also a new perspective on how modern analytical workflows work in practice.
